Hawkins Adds to Strong ARCA Resume

Matt Hawkins and his Jani King-Racing Radios team set out to compete in five ARCA races this season and with three in the book it's already going extremely well. He's registered two top fives and three top ten finishes so far, including a win in his first ever ARCA race back in April at Iowa Speedway.

"It's been a lot of fun," says Hawkins, "I like the bigger tracks and

the competition is better so it's been great. The ARCA days are a little

more laid back too, which is nice, so it's been a lot of fun."

This part Friday at Kentucky Speedway Hawkins laid down the fourth

fastest qualifying time and drove his #39 Dodge to a 6th place finish.

A long pit stop almost ruined Hawkins day as it shuffled him back to

18th, but Hawkins drove back up to 6th where he finished.

"I kind of wore myself out working my way back up to 6th," says

Hawkins, "It definitely wasn't a bad day, so I'm pretty happy with it."

Hawkins plans to enter two more ARCA races this season. He's

testing Nashville for his for the race there August 9th and then he'll

also race Chicagoland September sixth.
